BNC connector or Bayonet Neill Concelman connector are connector types commonly used for coaxial cables such as the RG-58 A/U cable used with the 10Base-2 Ethernet system. Basic BNC connectors, male connectors mounted at each end of a cable, have their center pin connected to the center cable conductor and a metal tube connected to the outer cable shield. Commonly used to connect monitors for increased signal accuracy from the video adapter, BNC connectors have rotating rings outside the tube that locks the cable to any female connector.
